Gabby’s Story

Gabby was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. If you have had the pleasure of meeting Gabby you wouldn’t be surprised that she describes herself as vivacious (Mac wrote this) . She gets her story-telling skills from her father (Gerard) and her kindness from her mother (Martine). She’s a natural leader and problem-solver. She loves to come up with creative ideas and plans to keep things fun and surprising for everyone. She’s fiercely strong, energetic, silly, and incredibly warm. Gabby is always thinking of everyone around her and just genuinely wants everyone to be happy. Her smile and laughter is contagious and she brings so much light and joy into the world!

Mac’s Story

Mac was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in Gloucester, MA. Mac has always been creative and loves to go down his own path. If you've had the pleasure of meeting Mac, you might first notice what a great listener he is, even with those who have the “gift of gab” (Gabby wrote this). Like his art, Mac is full of vibrant color, a boldly modern appreciation for tradition in his style, inspiring light in others with his tone, and most importantly, well-balanced and complex in his composition. He shows great strength and seriousness in times of difficulty, always lifting up others before himself, and finding the beauty in life. He exudes joy, love, and great humor in times of triumph (Gabby provides the humor in trying times, for a little comic relief). Mac treats everyone like family, and it's no wonder his loving family extends to all over the world!

Our Story

We met in Washington, DC in 2011, while both attending Catholic University. We instantly became friends, feeling as if we had known each other since childhood or in a previous life. (Who knows, maybe we ran into each other at Fenway Park or at the Boston Children's Museum during one of those summers Gabby was visiting her aunt and uncle nearby in Lexington). Although it was not love at first sight, it was a lasting friendship. Mac graduated with his degree in Architecture, and Gabby finished her victory lap a year later with her degree in Civil Engineering. After many Nationals games, one 2012 NL East Championship, and 5 years later, Gabby took her first Engineering job at a firm back in NYC, and 7 months later Mac's art took him to the Big Apple as well. In 2017, after many brunches at Sarabeth's and trips to the Guggenheim, that inseparable friendship grew into love and a beautiful partnership. Our love and strength only grew as time went on, as we continued to take the next steps in our lives and our relationship, with a few vacations to Montauk, Ireland, London, Paris, Maine, Vermont and Quebec along the way.

Flash forward, when the global pandemic emerged and created so much uncertainty, it revealed how much certainty we had in each other. We got engaged April 25th, 2020, on Good Harbor Beach, and were so happy we could share some good news with our families quarantining in Gloucester, and so many of our loved ones virtually. We are so excited to start our new family and celebrate our wedding with you November 13th, 2021!
